"A few mornings ago, Ethan wanted to hold Madeline.  I picked her up to take her to him as he climbed up on the rocking chair.  Then he held out his arms and said with a smile, “Come here princess!”  They both are so happy when he’s holding her, and this morning was no exception.  Once she was on his lap, he looked up at me and said with a sparkle in his eye, 'I’m holding my princess baby!'”

Seven Months Old

 "Madeline is such a sweetheart…nothing is more enjoyable to me than walking in her room in the morning and watching her eyes light up and her grin widen when she sees me.

 "Of course, everything about Madeline is cute…she never leaves the house without a bow or flower in her hair and that always makes her the cutest center of attention.  Her sweet face just melts my heart.  I love holding her and hearing her soft panting.

 "I love hearing her laugh and seeing her smile when she sees herself in the mirror."  I love my Madeline!

We Love Mimi

Yesterday as we were driving into town:

Ethan (Out of the blue and pointing up at a house on the hill): I wish that was Mimi’s house

Me:  Oh wow!  I do too, that would be awesome!

Ethan (about four seconds later): I wish THAT was Mimi’s house

Me:  me too, think of the fun!

Ethan (about one second later): I wish that one was Mimi’s house

This continued for about five minutes, at which point Ethan finally just said:

Ethan:  I wish all of them were Mimi’s houses!!!!! . . . But those houses aren’t Mimi’s houses; they are someone else’s houses . . . sigh . . . Mimi lives far away.

Oh!  Break my heart!
