A Day in the Life of Ethan
We don't even need nice weather outside to enjoy summer.
Popsicles, sunglasses, and golfing indoors!
"Ethan is a boy of repetition. There isn't anything that Ethan wants to do only once. When Ethan wants to play a board game for example, he wants to play it 15, 27, or 45 times . . . seriously. He doesn't want to play doctor once, he wants to play it for each stuffed animals multiple times. When Ethan wants you to sing him a song, he doesn't want to hear it once, he wants to hear it over and over and over until you feel like you can't bare to sing it even one more time. Ethan turns every game into something that can be repeated…and if you think of something funny to say or do around Ethan, just know that you'll be doing it for the next 45 minutes nonstop…if there is one word that Ethan likes most, it is 'more!'. But hey, I'll take that over 'no' any day!"
Diapers!
June 2, 2008: "I made Ethan's day today. It's so easy to brighten the day of a two year old. All I did was take a pieces masking tape, color it pink, and cut it into a little oval. Then I taped it on a cookie monster diaper and turned cookie monster into grover (with a pink nose!) Ethan giggled for 20 minutes and kept saying, 'mom had a good idea!' He's convinces he's wearing a grover diaper and it's made him as happy as a clam."

A Fun Day
May 24, 2008
"Saturday we had quite the busy day. It was so fun that I told Todd that we probably out did ourselves. First we spent the morning at the Carnival. Ethan had fun on several of the rides, only cried on one, but perfered the carosel most. We went on that until I thought I'd barf.
"Then we went to Cornwall Park (SO PRETTY, the next visitor that comes is going to go there with me) and had a picnic. Ethan had fun running around with sticks and could hardly eat his lunch. We had to poke him the whole way home so he'd stay awake.
"After his nap, we went Geo cashing. Todd got a $100 GPS for his scouts and we got to try it out! There are hundreds of little treasures hidden around Bellingham that you can find using a GPS. Ethan LOVED finding treasures. Anyway, then we ended the day having a bbq in our backyard. We don't have a bbq grill, so we roasted hotdogs over some coals we have for Todd's dutch oven. It was very fun."
Family Time at Home
May 22, 2008
"Ethan calls me 'Mom Mom'. I don't know where he got that from, but he is verging on obsessed. Where he used to say, 'what's that?' He'll now say, 'what's that mom mom?' or 'come over here' has turned into 'come over here mom mom'. Pretty much every sentence ends with mom mom. I really like it. I think it's cute. I called him 'Ethan Ethan' for awhile, but he would look up at me and in a very serious voice say, 'No. I'm just Ethan.' I don't know how long it will last, but for now I am thoroughly enjoying being mom mom.""Madeline is almost four months old. I can hardly believe it. She has the sweetest gummy grin in the entire world and it melts my heart every time she smiles at me. She loves to stand now on my lap and so it's hard to have her sit there. She stiffens up until she's standing only to wobble back to sitting again. It's wonderfully fun…she makes adorable little coos and squeals. Ethan loves watching her and laughs when her head bobbles around. He can make her smile which makes him giggle which makes me realize again and again how being a mom cannot be beat."
