 I'm about to embark on a new adventure.  A BLOG!  I'm calling it "The Rachel Way"

 "I make up songs and sing them as I go throughout my day.  My little boys always tells me to stop singing, but I can't.  It's just the Rachel way.  I try to make up recipes for dinner by throwing random things together.  My husband comes home from work, takes one look and says, 'did you make this up?' They never turn out great, but I can't resist.  It's just the Rachel way.  I like to feel my life, not just live it, even if that means crying more.  And in the end, as long as I can be home with my family everything seems right.  I guess it's just the Rachel way."

 "But boy, she does not know how to sleep!  Last night I put her down at 7 and she woke up at 8, 9, 10, 11, 2, 5, 5:30, 7:30!  Yeah, the sad thing is that that is fairly typical.  I'm very tired…

 "She is such a sweetheart during the day though.

 "I am loving seeing more and more personality come out of her."

 "Ethan is so dear to Madeline and she adores him.

 "He always makes sure she has toys to play with and he often cried when she falls (from sitting) and gets hurt because it makes him sad.  He loves helping with her bath and when he sings to her, she always smiles and laughs."

 "Sometimes when I get bogged down by dishes and laundry, I just have to look at their dear sweet faces and right in their eyes and my heart melts…they are my joy."

"A few mornings ago, Ethan wanted to hold Madeline.  I picked her up to take her to him as he climbed up on the rocking chair.  Then he held out his arms and said with a smile, “Come here princess!”  They both are so happy when he’s holding her, and this morning was no exception.  Once she was on his lap, he looked up at me and said with a sparkle in his eye, 'I’m holding my princess baby!'”

 "Madeline is such a sweetheart…nothing is more enjoyable to me than walking in her room in the morning and watching her eyes light up and her grin widen when she sees me.

 "Of course, everything about Madeline is cute…she never leaves the house without a bow or flower in her hair and that always makes her the cutest center of attention.  Her sweet face just melts my heart.  I love holding her and hearing her soft panting.

 "I love hearing her laugh and seeing her smile when she sees herself in the mirror."  I love my Madeline!

We Love Mimi

Yesterday as we were driving into town:

Ethan (Out of the blue and pointing up at a house on the hill): I wish that was Mimi’s house

Me:  Oh wow!  I do too, that would be awesome!

Ethan (about four seconds later): I wish THAT was Mimi’s house

Me:  me too, think of the fun!

Ethan (about one second later): I wish that one was Mimi’s house

This continued for about five minutes, at which point Ethan finally just said:

Ethan:  I wish all of them were Mimi’s houses!!!!! . . . But those houses aren’t Mimi’s houses; they are someone else’s houses . . . sigh . . . Mimi lives far away.

Oh!  Break my heart!
